#Abstract
The present article analyses the research project TOXIC BIOS, an open project that aims to co- create and make visible the histories of toxic contamination and resistance. Its research methodology is based on the toxic autobiography, a prototype tool with the scope to co create a counter-history of slow violence phenomena, and aimed at enabling citizen intervention in the first person of marginalized individuals and groups, denouncing the environmental injustice in which they feel imprisoned. This article will analyse the experience in the research process carried out by the Ecology and Society Workshop, Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, as facilitator of the project in Portugal.
