#Abstract
This article originates from the ideas that Richard Sennett develops in his book The Craftsman, in which the author claims that craftwork is characterized by its purpose of being «well-done work», thus designating a much wider range of pratices than the specialized manual work performed by an artisan. The article is centered on the definition of this craftwork considering two main aspects: the «way of making», considering a set of values and pratices related to the work of the craftsman (to ‘make things well’, skill, authority, cooperation); and the close relation that the craftsman keeps between thought and action, project and execution. By defining the main features of craftwork we have sought to confront it with the ways of making in «flexible work», showing how a certain «way of making» involves a certain way of living and looking at the world.
