#Abstract
Digital media have caused substantial changes in life, behaviour and the ways in which subjects of different ages are constituted, thus raising wide possibilities. In this context, the elderly are included in various searches, as it is a way of enabling more contacts with people, constituting themselves as subjects desirous of a better quality of life. Thus, it is our intention to get to know better that which circulates on Facebook. As such, it is our intention to propose the following questionproblem: How is the aged subject constituted on and by Facebook? We therefore analysed the forms of subjectivation that facebookians build in relation to the elderly, using the theory of Discourse Analysis. We conclude that Facebook enables materialisations of subjunctivisation of the elderly and characterises them as a contemporary subject faced with the need to be represented, narrated, shown and reinvented as a symbolic-discursive object.
