#Abstract
João Martins Ferreira was an important merchant and city councilor in the city of Oporto at the end of the fifteenth century and the beginning of the sixteenth century. Nowadays his name designates an archival fund at the Municipal Historical Archives of that city. This fund is constituted by parchments thought to come from his own private archive. But what about if this is not the complete story? Is it possible that these parchments were made in the same writing workshop and João Martins Ferreira was only their main client? Based in the method of discursive traditions we seek to obtain a better knowledge about this set of documents and its current organization, as well as possible answers to our uncertainties.
