Hombres, mujeres e instituciones en relación : reconstruir las redes y marcos de sociabilidad medievales a partir de las últimas voluntades
Miguel García-Fernández
File (.pdf)
AbstractAlthough testaments are one of the main sources of the “History of the Death”, last wills are also essential to the social history. They allow us to know the major networks and frameworks of social relationship of men and women in the Middle Ages. These last wills also trace, in detail, some of their interpersonal relationships and their relationships with institutions. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to understand the integration of people in a complex network of relationships involving different social partners (spouses, children, parents, neighbours, dependents, relatives, institutions), with different intensity, and interactions of varied nature (social, economic, spiritual, cultural, power, gender). In these interactions also occur the notions of conflict, harmony, affection, solidarity and trust.
