#Abstract
This text presents the essential aspects of a research, carried out between 2011 and 2013, about the chancery of King Manuel I (1495-1521). Various aspects of the project are discussed: its genesis, its historiographical framework, its objectives, its methodological bases and its structure. Finally, provisional conclusions that reflect the state of the research at the time this work was done are presented.
