AbstractThe purpose of this work is to discuss how the use of images by teachers can generate changes in the way they see and understand reality both in the classroom and in the world around the school. The use of images in the classroom is a basic mediation resource of the visual arts area and in several disciplines from Basic Education to Higher Education, because it uses in its scope this resource as a fundamental element of analysis. This work intends to emphasize the theoretical and methodological aspects involved in the teaching of images, in mediation, in the moments of experimentation, production and its pedagogical character, which will be brought about through the debate between authors and Cultural aspects that involve the cycle of use of images by teachers of basic education.
