#Abstract
Based on two different documents (the Atas de Vereação of the city of Oporto and the Livro da Abertura da Rua Nova) this article analyses the trends in medieval anthroponymy in the city of Oporto and it's surroundings between 1431 and 1438, putting them in context with the national and European standards. Simultaneously, it also tries to explain the verified trends, connecting them with sociocultural aspects, such as the influence of religion, of society and the natural environment in the on the onomastic corpus.
