#Abstract
The aim of this article is to present a research proposal, in the context of our Master's thesis, on chaplains, confessors and almoners at the service of the Portuguese royal family between 1385 and 1449. Through the collection, systematization and analysis of prosopographic information, especially with regard to their academic formation, religious observance and the benefits obtained by the service to the crown, we will try to reconstitute the lives and careers of these clergymen. Starting from their individual paths, we will try to find trends and parallelisms that characterize these royal servants, which will allow us to obtain an approximate definition of their functions. For this purpose, we have a set of sources, handwritten and edited, mostly of royal origin, and contributions from national and foreign bibliography. In the end, we hope to gain a better understanding of the role played by these men, both in the Royal Chapel and in the chapels of the other members of the royal family.
