#Abstract
In his chronicles, Rui de Pina repeatedly says that he uses non-Portuguese historiographic sources as a support for his work. This is the motto for our study, in which we propose ourselves to identify those same sources mentioned by the chronicler and understand how they were used. We focus specifically on the chronicles of the kings between D. Sancho I and D. Afonso IV, consensually considered as a cohesive and autonomous group, apart from the other chronicles of Rui de Pina. From the study of the sources used by the chronicler, we seek to reach the networks of mobility, contacts, and cultural interrelationships of that time, which favours the circulation of information and ideas, and the presence of these foreign texts in the Portuguese court. We hope to contribute for a better perception of the methods of this chronicler and for a better understanding of the historiographical culture of the late-medieval Portuguese court.
