Aims and scope
História – Revista da FLUP (former Revista da Faculdade de Letras do Porto – História) is the scientific journal of History of the University of Porto. It was founded in 1970 and has been published continuously since 1984, on an annual basis. In 2011, the journal will initiate a new series, its fourth, with a new format and editorial programme. História is a peer reviewed international journal. It aims to publish and disseminate innovative research in History. Even if historically oriented, multidisciplinarity and comparative analysis are also within its main scope and editorial orientation. Contributions from other social sciences are welcome.
História – Revista da FLUP also seeks to offer a space for surveys and debates, with the aim of providing new insights into History. The journal also provides news and information about academic activities.
Each issue of História – Revista da FLUP will be dedicated to a specific theme announced in advance, although the journal will also accept contributions to the “Other Studies” section.
The journal welcomes contributions in Portuguese, Castilian, French, Italian and English. Contributions from the nations of the Portuguese speaking community and Latin America are particularly welcome.
Submissions will be considered for the following three sections:
i) Thematic issue.
ii) Other Studies.
iii) Book Reviews.
